Nanny Angel Volunteer Weekend
Our annual Volunteer Appreciation weekend saw a group of Nanny Angels heading up north to a cottage retreat for the weekend of August 23rd. Although they encountered a rainy weekend it didn’t stop the Angels from having a relaxing weekend enjoying some down time. The Angels swam, went tubing in the lake, watched movies, enjoyed the hot tub, and sang karaoke. The Angels even managed to catch a number of fish right off the dock; sadly none were big enough for dinner, but they were definitely nibbling that afternoon. A fun time was had coming together and getting to know other volunteers who also had a passion to help moms in need. Thank you to all the Angels who attended!

Black Tie Bingo Fundraiser & West Jet Ticket Raffle
An exciting night of Bingo was held at the Palais Royale on the night of July 28th. The fundraising event was organized by a talented team of students from George Brown College called Four Corners Events, and was a unique way of generating revenue for the Nanny Angel Network’s programs. The venue and location was absolutely incredible and all the guests enjoyed stunning views of Toronto’s lakefront. Delicious hors d’ouevres and a signature pink Nanny Angel cocktail were served through the night, while the MC of the evening was John Bartlett, the announcer for the Toronto Marlies. Hair and makeup touch-ups were provided by Aveda Salon academy and guests could stop by and strike a pose at the photo booth manned by talented photographer Nikki Leigh McKean. Many prizes were awarded through the night ranging from autographed sports memorabilia to yoga gift certificates and goodie baskets.
The grand prize of the night was for 2 round trip tickets with West Jet, which were awarded to the lucky Judy B. The event was an incredible success, raising $8,700 for the Nanny Angel Network. Thank you to everyone who participated and special thanks to Four Corners Events for all their hard work and creative genius. We are so incredibly grateful!
